Heart Strings

The tears are real

They pull at my heart strings

I want to fix

all her pain

Life lessons are hard

to learn

for a child of 9

Fathers know how life works

It’s the child who knows how to ask why

The answer and question don’t always see ”i” to ”i”

Yet her tears are my question

I seek to find….

I pray for silence

Let me cry and ask why


It’s safe to say I have a migraine

It started earlier in the day

I should be looking at the screen

Rite now

But I did ask for the words today

And this is what came………
