Loud Rain


Gots my boots on with my yellow raincoat

The hood is up for my protection

While I sit inside listening

It’s a heavy rain

With its drops so

Loud I can hear

Them hit the window

As I sit with my

Hands over my ears

While nature speaks

this is when I

 usually fear the most

My security is pulled

Out from under me

I don’t like sitting still

While reality has it way with me

The child in me rises

While a vision of

An adult pointing

Their finger saying


My child huddled

In the corner

With a blanket

Over my head


Why must I

Live in a


That I have

To find the
