Wrap your troubles in your dreams
And dream your troubles away
Even when you think your not
It’s just you can’t remember
Sleep is a funny thing
What they say you need
You never get
But what you get
Is what you need
So wrap your troubles in a dream
And if by chance they should come
Dream your troubles away
Just because you have a bad dream
Doesn’t make all your dreams bad
Even though it feels life
Is one bad dream
Doesn’t mean your dreams are creeping into your life
So taking your dreams out of your life
Taking their power away
Is giving you back your life
And life is giving back to you

  1. When I was young I was told that if I had a bad dream, woke up, and then told someone about it, it would not come again. I am not sure if this is true or not, but it seems like it might help release the bad and let you go on with things, and at worst, it can’t hurt? I like this poem. Made me think.

  2. This intriguing poem made me remember growing up in a very superstitious family which viewed dreams as an extension of reality. I’m happy to see you take such an opposite stand 🙂
