Penny Candy

There was this tiny store

Next to the movie theater

Those jars all a glow

When your a child

Size is all out proportion

And what you could do

With a dollar would now

Be considered a crime

I can remember how the

Sun would hit those glass

jars as though the heavens

Had opened up,if it’s Saturday

It’s those red wax lips

And shoe string licorice

While you watched Hercules

Unchair,now I know why

Bubble gum was bazooka

Joe,with enough wrappers

You could send away for

A prize, gorgo the dinosaur

Mite have taken away

New Yorks Central Park,

but by the end of the

movie I had change

For when the ice cream

As we played till the

cows would moan
